1. About Fractal

Fractal is an inspection, testing, record-keeping and reporting tool for professional safety and compliance workflows, including fire alarm, emergency lighting and fire extinguisher work. Fractal is not a certification authority and does not independently certify a building, system, device, inspection or legal compliance.

2. Professional responsibility

Fractal does not replace professional judgement, appropriate competence, training, site procedures, client requirements or applicable law. The user, engineer, competent person, employer or company remains responsible for inspecting the site correctly, entering complete and accurate data, and checking every report or certificate before it is issued or relied on.

3. No compliance guarantee

Fractal does not guarantee that a building, system, device, inspection, service visit, report or certificate is safe, complete, legally compliant or accepted by a client, authority, insurer or regulator. Generated documents are based on user-entered information and app records and must be reviewed before use.

4. Local data and backups

This release stores inspection data locally on the user's device. Data does not automatically move to another device. Users are responsible for creating and safely storing backups before reinstalling Fractal, clearing app storage, resetting a device or moving to another device.

5. Exports and third-party services

When a user saves, prints, emails, uploads or shares a report, certificate, drawing, QR sheet or backup, the file may be handled by an external app, printer, file manager, email provider or cloud-storage provider. Users are responsible for protecting exported files and sharing them only with authorised recipients.

6. Camera and photos

Fractal may use the camera for QR scanning and inspection photos. Users are responsible for having permission to capture, store and share photos and other site information.

7. Google Play subscriptions

Paid Android modules are supplied through automatically renewing Google Play subscriptions. Available plans, local prices, applicable taxes, billing period and any eligible free trial are shown by Google Play before purchase. A displayed 14-day trial converts to the selected monthly plan unless cancelled before the trial ends.

Subscriptions can be cancelled in Google Play. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal and does not retrospectively remove access already paid for. Payment processing, renewal, cancellation and refund handling are subject to Google Play's terms and applicable consumer law.

8. Availability

Fractal may be updated as workflows, platform requirements and applicable standards change. Users should keep independent backups and should not use Fractal as the only copy of important safety or compliance records.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fractal is not liable for loss caused by incorrect or incomplete user-entered data, failure to review generated documents, loss of unbacked-up local data, misuse of the app, or third-party services used to export or share files. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Privacy

Use of Fractal is also covered by the Fractal Privacy Policy.
